Lawn Tractor Racing

 

Is that lawn tractor greased and ready to race? Did you remember to remove the cutting blades? Great! To register, click: Link to rules, regulations, and registration. A $15 entry fee is required to participate. Registration forms will also be available on race day.

Now you’re free to practice your stuff until the big day – Saturday, August 4 th – when you compete in the 2 nd annual Lawn Tractor Races against friend, neighbor or nemesis as part of the Hanover Harvest Festival.

This year’s race has moved to the field behind Hanover Elementary School, where there is plenty of parking and room to unload your machine, if you choose not to ride it there. Start time is 1 p.m. sharp, which gives you plenty of time to enjoy the parade at 11.

Drivers must be 18 years or older. Those 16 and 17 may compete with an approved parent’s consent form. An approved automobile racing helmet or motorcycle helmet is required. This race is a LeMans style start with engines off.

The first three racers across the finish line win prizes. First place prize is worth $100, second place $75, and third place worth $25.

Whether you race or are a spectator, this event promises lots of fun and gallery cheering. Make sure you don’t miss it!
