GENERAL COMPETITION REGULATIONS

RULES OF THE TRACK

1. No bumping will be tolerated

2. Driver must keep both hands on the steering wheel, except to momentarily operate the controls

3. Mower must be completely stopped before driver dismounts

4. Unsafe on track/off track driving practices may result in disqualification

5. Starts will be LeMans style with engines off. Drivers will have one hand on the seat of their mower until start is signaled at which time you may start your mowers.

6. Long pants, closed shoes and shirts are required by all drivers

7. Drivers must be 18 years of age. Drivers 16 and 17 years of age may compete with an approved parent’s consent form on file with the Race Steward

8. Every driver must wear an automobile racing or motorcycle type helmet approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation or Snell Foundation

9. Events are open to all self propelled rotary or reel type lawn mowers the main provision being the mower must originally have been designed, mass produced, and sold commercially through a dealer network to mow residential lawns. It must remain suitable for lawn cutting.

10. CUTTING BLADES MUST BE REMOVED COMPLETELY FROM ALL MOWERS. ALL MOWERS MUST HAVE A CUTTING DECK SECURELY MOUNTED IN THE STOCK POSITION, WITH A MINIMUM OF 2.5” GROUND CLEARANCE UNDER THE LOWEST POINT OF THE DECK.

11. All drivers must have a waiver signed prior to race start

12. Drivers must take all parts with you when you leave

13. Mowers must be safe and complete, all parts and panels in place, with no missing nuts, bolts, cotter keys etc.

14. Stock movers must be fit with an operative muffler in new or very good condition

15. The only acceptable fuel is pump gasoline

WAIVER. Knowing that lawn tractor racing is a potentially hazardous activity, I enter and race certifying that I am medically able. I also know that, although police and/or ambulance protection will be provided I assume the risk of of participating in this race. I also assume any and all other risks associated with racing in this event including but not limited to falls, crashes, mechanical difficulty, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or humidity and condition of the roads.

Knowing these facts, and in consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release, and discharge all sponsors and organizers of the Hanover Harvest Festival lawn tractor race, and any other organization associated with the race, race officials, volunteers, any and all sponsors including their agents, employees, assigns or anyone acting for or on their behalf, from any and all claims or liability for death, personal injury, or property damage of any kind or nature arising out of, or in the course of, my participation in this event. This release and waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown.
